What is the attire for the welcome party?

The welcome party is cocktail attire; jacket, no tie for the gentlemen, cocktail dresses for the ladies. On a special note, we invite all guests (who are able and would like to) to join Hill in sporting a mustache for Friday's events! If a mustache is not a part of your normal facial hair routine, please consider shaving it on Saturday for the wedding in solidarity, as Hill will be contractually obligated to part with his.

What is the attire for the ceremony and reception?

Semi-formal. Men, think suit and tie. Ladies, think midi to long dresses. The wedding will be held on the front lawn, so we suggest shoes suitable for grass. Mustaches discouraged.

Are children invited?

While there may be a lot of pediatricians at the wedding, none will be working! As much as we love them, we ask that you please leave the little ones at home.

Can I bring a plus one?

If your invitation includes your partner's name or "and guest," then by all means! If your invitation was addressed only to you, then unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate a guest.

Will transportation be provided?

Yes! Buses will run from all 4 hotels with wedding blocks (see Travel page) to and from the Clifton Inn. Buses will arrive at hotels at 4:15PM and will depart no later than 4:25 PM! Please be prompt so you don't miss your ride! Return trips will start at 9:30PM back to hotels and continue until 1:00AM following the after party.

Can I park at the Clifton Inn?

Parking at the Clifton Inn proper is extremely limited; therefore, if you plan to drive to the wedding we ask that you please park at Stone-Robinson Elementary School (958 N. Milton Rd., Charlottesville), directly across the street from the Clifton Inn. We will have a shuttle that will pick up from the parking lot at 4:40 PM and take you up the hill to the venue for the ceremony. Rides will start back to the lot at 9:30 PM and continue until the end of the reception. If, for whatever reason, you are unable to drive home, you can leave your car parked until 10AM on Sunday.
